In the Letting Go

"We cannot change men, but we can encourage, implore and affirm their will to change. We can respect the truth of their inner being, a truth that they may be inable to speak, that they long to connect, to love, to be loved." - bell hooks

In the Letting Go was a long term research project looking at patriarchy and implicit power structures. Playing with the things that might be difficult for men to say to each other and to show to each other within those structures. Looking at vulnerability between men, intimacy, care-giving, playfulness and love. The project is a physical excavation of these ideas, an unburdening, a ritual of release, a way forward towards new models for ‘maleness’.
